📖 About this office
The Columbus Main Post Office on Milgen Road anchors passport service on the city's east side, convenient to the Cross Country Plaza and Macon Road retail corridor. Staff here accept completed DS-11 applications for anyone applying for a U.S. passport for the first time, along with the supporting citizenship and identity documents, and forward everything to the State Department on your behalf.
Because this is a busy branch serving much of Muscogee County, passport transactions are handled by appointment rather than at the counter. Reserve a slot in advance so a clerk can review your paperwork without the wait. If your east-side schedule doesn't line up, the other Columbus acceptance offices downtown may have earlier openings.
💡 Good to know
Bring your original proof of citizenship (a certified birth certificate or naturalization certificate) plus a government-issued photo ID, and leave both unstapled. Fees are split between the State Department and a $35 acceptance fee collected here. For the full list of Columbus counters, see our Columbus passport guide.
