📖 About this office
The Muscogee County Clerk of Superior & State Courts operates a passport acceptance desk on the second floor of the Government Center Tower at 100 10th Street. It's the county's own alternative to the post office, and unlike the USPS branches it takes applicants on a walk-in basis, though you can still schedule a time if you prefer a set slot.
The clerk's staff process DS-11 applications for adults and for minors 15 and under, take passport photos on site, and handle renewal-by-mail questions. Plan for roughly thirty minutes per applicant. Because it's inside the courthouse complex downtown, it pairs well with other errands at the county government offices in Columbus.
💡 Good to know
Complete your DS-11 in black ink but do not sign it until an agent witnesses your signature. Out-of-state applicants should bring a secondary form of ID. Payment covers the government fees plus the standard $35 acceptance charge. This counter is one of three options in our Columbus passport listings.
