Passport Acceptance Offices in Fresno, California

Fresno, the largest city in California’s Central Valley and the seat of Fresno County, gives residents three genuinely different ways to apply for a U.S. passport in person. Which one fits you depends mostly on where you live and how quickly you need an appointment.

Downtown applicants can choose the Fresno Downtown Post Office on E Street or the Fresno County Clerk on Tulare Street, two acceptance points only a few blocks apart near the courthouse. Families in north Fresno and neighboring Clovis often gravitate to The Passport Place at Fresno State, one of the highest-volume acceptance offices in the nation, where on-site photos let you finish everything in a single stop.

There is no full passport agency in the Valley itself. For same-week, in-person agency service you would drive to the San Francisco Passport Agency, roughly 140 miles and about three hours northwest, or to Los Angeles, about 175 miles south. For the vast majority of travelers, though, a local acceptance appointment plus routine or expedited mail processing is all that’s needed — no long drive required.
