If you work or live near the city center, the Downtown Station post office on West Lancaster and the Central branch of the Fort Worth Public Library on West 3rd Street are the most convenient picks; the library is especially easy for families running errands together. Applicants in the Wedgwood and Hulen area, or anyone who also needs a certified birth or marriage record, are better served by the Tarrant County Clerk's Southwest Sub-Courthouse on Granbury Road, which handles both jobs in one visit.

Every one of these sites accepts new adult and minor applications, checks your documents, and seals the packet for the National Passport Center. None of them can issue a passport on the spot. When speed matters, the closest in-person passport agency is the Dallas Passport Agency in the Earle Cabell Federal Building downtown, roughly 28 miles east via Interstate 30 and about a 40-minute drive outside rush hour; it serves only travelers with imminent international trips and requires its own appointment.
