Staff accept and verify first-time applications, confirm your identity and citizenship documents, and forward the paperwork to the State Department. Renewals aren't handled here — eligible adults mail those instead. Because it sits at the civic heart of the county seat, it's an easy stop if you're already at the courthouse for other business.

Book online through the county's passport page: processing runs by appointment only, usually within a fixed midday window Monday through Friday. One convenience that sets this office apart from the City Secretary a few blocks away is that photos are taken on site for a small fee, so you can complete the whole application in a single visit.
