Passport Acceptance Offices in Farmington, Connecticut

Farmington sits in the Farmington Valley west of Hartford, and applying for a U.S. passport here is straightforward once you know which counter to use. Because Connecticut has no functioning county government, there is no county clerk to visit; instead, two public facilities in town take applications in person. The Farmington passport offices are the town's post office on Main Street and the regional probate court at the municipal complex on Monteith Drive.

For most travelers the Farmington Post Office at 210 Main Street is the simplest choice: it schedules passport appointments through the USPS system and can take your photo on the same visit. If you prefer a government counter with weekday daytime hours, the Farmington Regional Probate Court also serves as an acceptance agent for Farmington, Burlington and Plainville residents. Note that photos are not offered at the court, so arrive with a compliant picture in hand.

Both counters handle first-time adult applications, child passports and name-change replacements, then forward everything to a federal processing center.
