📖 About this office
The Blacksburg branch of the government-run Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library, a block west of the Miller and Main Street intersection, is downtown Blacksburg's most flexible passport option. As part of a public regional library system it remains an authorized acceptance facility, and its appointment book stretches into the evening and across Saturday mornings — hours the post office and campus office can't match.
Staff accept DS-11 applications, witness signatures and take passport photos on site for a fee. Because it's a public agency library rather than a private nonprofit, it continues to offer this service to residents and visitors alike. It pairs well with a downtown errand, though parking is the trade-off; the roomier USPS Main Office may suit if you prefer to drive up. Start by looking over fees and documents on the Virginia passport page.
💡 Good to know
Call (540) 382-6969 x210 to book — walk-ins aren't accepted. Downtown parking is metered or in the Downtown Blacksburg garage at about a dollar an hour, so factor that in. The library's later and weekend slots make it ideal for working applicants and families; if you'd rather not deal with downtown parking, compare the other Blacksburg offices.
