📖 About this office
Run by Virginia Tech's Student Engagement and Campus Life office, this acceptance facility on the first floor of Squires Student Center is the most central option in Blacksburg, steps from College Avenue and the downtown strip. Despite the campus setting, it's open to the general public as well as students, staff and faculty, and its team is authorized to accept first-time and minor DS-11 applications.
Appointments are made online or by phone up to 24 hours ahead, and a short pre-appointment phone screening confirms you'll arrive with the right documents — a nice touch that prevents wasted trips. Photos can be taken on site for a small fee, or you may bring your own. If a campus visit isn't convenient, the Blacksburg post office and library accept applications too; check the statewide requirements before your appointment.
💡 Good to know
Parking on campus is metered and can be scarce during term time, so allow extra minutes or use the downtown garage and walk over. Call 540-231-9844 or email the office to lock in a slot, and expect that friendly screening call beforehand. For a quieter, easier-to-park alternative, the USPS Main Office is a short drive north.
