📖 About this office
The Tempe Main Post Office anchors the city's passport services at 233 E Southern Ave, just west of Dorsey Lane in south Tempe. As the largest USPS acceptance point in town, it processes applications for adults applying for the first time, children, and anyone whose passport does not qualify for renewal by mail.
Passport work is handled at the far-left end of the service counter by trained acceptance agents, and it runs by appointment so a clerk can give your paperwork proper attention. Reserve a time by calling 480-967-0956 or booking through the USPS scheduling tool before you arrive.
Its Southern Avenue address puts it within easy reach of central and south Tempe neighborhoods, making it the default stop for most local residents starting a passport application.
💡 Good to know
Head to the far-left windows for passport service and bring the State Department fee as a separate check or money order. Appointments are required, so schedule ahead rather than dropping in. Comparing this office with the campus and Apache Blvd options on the Tempe overview page can help you find the earliest available slot.
