📖 About this office
The U.S. Passport Acceptance Office at Arizona State University sits inside University Center Building A, Suite 111, on the edge of the bustling Tempe campus at 1100 E University Drive. Run through ASU's Auxiliary Business Services, it is a full acceptance facility open to students, faculty and the general public alike, so you do not need a Sun Devil ID to apply here.
Staff witness your signature on Form DS-11, verify your citizenship documents, and forward the sealed package to the U.S. Department of State on your behalf. What sets this location apart is the on-site photo studio: you can have a compliant passport photo taken and printed in the same visit, sparing a separate trip to a drugstore.
One quirk worth planning around is payment. ASU's own processing and photo charges take Visa or MasterCard only, while the federal application fee must be paid by a separate check or money order made out to the Department of State. Three complimentary parking spaces sit right outside on a first-come basis.
💡 Good to know
Bring two forms of payment: a card (Visa or MasterCard) for ASU photo and processing fees, plus a check or money order for the State Department fee. Both parents must attend for applicants aged 15 or under. If a campus visit is inconvenient, the nearby Tempe post offices offer the same acceptance service across town.
