📖 About this office
The Natrona County Library made local history as the first public library in Wyoming to train its staff as passport agents, and its downtown Casper building at 307 East Second Street is now a welcome alternative to the postal counters. For families who already visit for story time or research, folding a passport appointment into a library trip feels natural rather than bureaucratic.
Trained library staff accept first-time adult applications and every kind of minor application, walking you through the DS-11 and checking that your citizenship documents are in order before anything is sealed. Appointments are required, and after you reserve one the library emails a checklist so you know exactly what to carry.
Payment is the detail travelers trip on most: you will need two separate checks or money orders, one made out to the U.S. Department of State and one to Natrona County Library. If the library's calendar is full, the nearby Casper post offices also accept applications, and our Wyoming overview covers the federal timeline.
💡 Good to know
Bring two separate payments — one check or money order for the State Department and one for the library's execution fee; the library does not combine them. Children under 16 must attend with both parents or guardians, or with the proper consent paperwork. If you also need a photo, confirm whether the library offers it or plan a quick stop elsewhere, then compare timing with the other Casper acceptance points.
