📖 About this office
The Tooele County Clerk's office at 47 South Main Street doubles as a certified passport acceptance facility, one flight of business inside the county building in downtown Tooele. Because the clerk already handles vital records and elections for the whole valley, the staff process passport books and cards for adults and minors as part of their daily counter work.
The office is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with passport walk-ins accepted until one hour before closing on each of those days. An appointment is strongly encouraged so a clerk is free to review your paperwork without a wait, and passport photos are taken in-house for a $10 fee.
This is a convenient choice for families, since minors under 16 can be sworn in with both parents present and everything is handled at one desk. If the courthouse hours don't fit your schedule, the nearby Tooele post office option runs on appointment slots instead.
💡 Good to know
The clerk collects the $35 acceptance fee payable to Tooele County plus the U.S. Department of State fees, and takes compliant photos on site so you needn't bring your own. Appointments are encouraged but not required during the posted walk-in window. See the full Tooele passport rundown or browse other counties on the Utah page.
