📖 About this office
The City of Orem operates a U.S. passport acceptance facility out of the help center at the north end of City Hall, right on State Street in the center of town. It's a municipal option many locals prefer over a post office because the hours are steady weekday business hours and the staff handle passport paperwork alongside other city services. As a designated acceptance agent, the office verifies your identity, witnesses your signature, and forwards first-time, child, and name-change applications to the State Department — it does not process renewals you can mail in yourself.
Walk-ins are accepted for up to two applicants, but families or groups of three or more should book through the city's online scheduler to guarantee a slot. There's a separate city acceptance fee on top of the federal charges, payable by card or check, so bring a payment method that isn't cash-only. If this location doesn't fit your schedule, the other Orem office at Mountain Shadows is a short drive south. You can also compare surrounding towns through our Utah directory.
💡 Good to know
Parking is available at City Hall, and the office is easy to find at the building's north entrance. Appointments are prioritized on Fridays, so mid-week visits often move faster. Bring a photocopy of your photo ID with you; the complete what-to-bring checklist is on the Utah state page.
