📖 About this office
Inside the Flathead County Justice Center on South Main Street, the Clerk of District Court accepts U.S. passport applications for valley residents who would rather not wrestle with an appointment calendar. Unlike the post office across town, this courthouse office takes applications on a walk-in basis during posted hours, which makes it a practical stop if your travel plans came together on short notice.
The clerk's staff process the DS-11 for first-time applicants, minors, and anyone whose current passport doesn't qualify for renewal by mail. Keep in mind the office pauses passport intake over the midday lunch hour, and it does not shoot passport photos — you'll need to bring a compliant 2x2 photo from a pharmacy, print shop, or the post office beforehand.
Because it shares a building with other county services, parking and access are straightforward. For applicants who prefer photos and paperwork in one stop, the Kalispell Post Office is the alternative in town.
💡 Good to know
Applications are taken on a walk-in basis during the posted morning and afternoon windows; no passports are processed from noon to 2 p.m. This office does not provide passport photos, so bring one with you — the nearby Kalispell Post Office offers on-site photos.
