📖 About this office
The Town of Brunswick's passport acceptance desk is run by the Tax Collection Division inside Town Hall at 28 Federal Street, in the heart of the historic downtown district. As a designated acceptance agent for the U.S. State Department, staff here review and forward first-time and child (DS-11) applications, and they take the required passport photos on site so you don't have to make a separate trip.
Applications are handled by appointment only, Monday through Thursday, which makes this a good option if you can plan ahead and want to combine your visit with other town business. Because the office is municipal rather than a mailing counter, it does not offer same-day service or renewals by mail. See our Brunswick passport overview for the other local option, or the Maine state page for fees and document requirements.
💡 Good to know
Call 207-725-6657 to book; the desk is part of the Tax Collection Division, not a separate passport counter. Town Hall is wheelchair accessible. Every applicant, including children, must appear in person. If the town's calendar is full, the nearby Brunswick post office is an alternative.
