📖 About this office
The Centerville Post Office sits at 300 N. 10th Street, a short walk from the historic Appanoose County courthouse square in the heart of downtown Centerville. As a designated USPS passport acceptance facility, it lets residents of southern Iowa hand in a first-time application without driving to a larger metro.
Staff here witness your signature, verify your identification, and seal your completed DS-11 packet before forwarding it to the State Department for processing. Because acceptance is handled by appointment, it pays to reserve a slot before you arrive rather than counting on a walk-in window.
This branch is a practical choice for anyone applying in or around Centerville, and it works well alongside the county auditor's office a block away for households that need more than one appointment.
💡 Good to know
Book your acceptance appointment through the USPS scheduler at tools.usps.com/rcas/ and bring an unsigned application, proof of citizenship, and a valid photo ID. If this branch is fully booked, the nearby Appanoose County Auditor also accepts applications.
