📖 About this office
Mountain View Regional Library, part of the Cobb County Public Library System, serves northeast Marietta along Sandy Plains Road and is one of two Cobb County library branches authorized by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications. The library focuses its passport service on first-time adult applicants and children under 16 — the two groups who must appear in person before an acceptance agent to complete Form DS-11.
Unlike USPS branches, Mountain View accepts only Form DS-11 (new applications) and does not process passport renewals, which can be submitted by mail using Form DS-82. The library also does not offer passport photo services on-site, so applicants should obtain two identical 2-inch x 2-inch photos before arriving. Scheduling an appointment is required; slots can be booked through the Cobb County Library system. A $35 acceptance fee is charged separately from the State Department application fee, payable by check, money order, or cashier's check.
For residents in north and east Marietta, this branch offers a quieter, community-centered alternative to the busier downtown post offices. Full details on all Cobb County acceptance locations are available on the Marietta passport page. For broader Georgia passport planning resources, the Georgia passport guide covers agencies, timelines, and requirements statewide.
💡 Good to know
Mountain View Regional Library does not provide passport photos or process renewals. Bring two passport photos obtained elsewhere, your completed DS-11 (unsigned), original proof of U.S. citizenship, government-issued photo ID, and separate payment for both the State Department fee and the $35 library acceptance fee (check, money order, or cashier's check — no cash or credit cards). For same-week travel emergencies, the Atlanta Passport Agency at 230 Peachtree St NW handles urgent cases by appointment only.
