📖 About this office
The Rodney Square Station is Wilmington's downtown passport acceptance point, on Delaware Avenue a short walk from Rodney Square and the city's business district. It's the handiest option if you work in central Wilmington or arrive by train, and it accepts the first-time and minor applications (form DS-11) that have to be submitted in person.
As at every acceptance facility in Wilmington, applications are booked through the USPS scheduler rather than taken as walk-ins, so reserve a slot and bring your completed form, proof of citizenship and photo ID. Staff check your documents, witness your signature and forward the packet to the State Department — passports are not printed on site.
If your trip is under two weeks away a local office won't be quick enough; you'd need the Philadelphia Passport Agency instead. For fees, the documents to bring and processing times, see our Delaware passport guide.
💡 Good to know
Parking downtown is metered, so allow extra time at peak hours. If Rodney Square is fully booked, the Talleyville and Greenville branches north and west of the centre often have earlier openings.
