📖 About this office
The Fort Collins Main Post Office sits at 301 East Boardwalk Drive on the city's south side, a short hop off College Avenue and convenient to the Midtown shopping corridor. As the USPS acceptance facility that handles the heaviest passport volume in town, it is where most Fort Collins residents submit a brand-new application in person.
Counter staff here check your completed DS-11, verify your citizenship evidence and photo ID, witness your signature, and seal everything for the mail to the State Department. Because this is an acceptance office rather than a federal agency, no passport is printed on-site — your booklet or card arrives by mail once processing finishes.
All passport visits run by appointment, which you book through the USPS scheduler. If this post office is fully booked, two nearby government counters listed on our Fort Collins passport page often have openings the same week.
💡 Good to know
Bring your original citizenship proof (certified birth certificate or naturalization certificate) plus a photocopy, a valid photo ID, and a compliant 2x2 photo. Payment for the acceptance fee is separate from the State Department fee, so plan for two forms of payment. If you also need a same-town government alternative, the Larimer County and City Clerk counters accept applications too.
