📖 About this office
Boulder's passport applications run through the city's stately main post office, a 1910 landmark on 15th Street officially named the Officer Eric H. Talley Post Office Building. Just steps from the Pearl Street Mall, it is easy to fold a passport appointment into an errand downtown. The office accepts first-time applications, applications for minors, and replacements for lost or stolen passports; a clerk reviews your Boulder paperwork, witnesses your signature, and mails the sealed package to the State Department. Because it is an acceptance facility rather than a regional agency, it cannot print books or expedite a case on site.
💡 Good to know
Passport service here is scheduled separately from the regular retail counter, so book through the official USPS scheduler rather than just walking in. Bring your citizenship proof, a valid photo ID plus a photocopy, and separate payments for the application and any service fee. If every slot is taken, other offices across Colorado, such as Longmont or Denver, may have earlier openings.
