📖 About this office
The University of Alaska Fairbanks runs a passport acceptance counter out of its Campus Mail Center, tucked into Room 114 of the Facilities Services Building at 803 Alumni Drive. Although it sits on a university campus, the office is open to the general public, giving north-side residents and West Ridge commuters an alternative to the downtown post offices.
Staff here accept first-time adult applications, minor passports, and renewals that require in-person acceptance, and they take the required 2x2 passport photo on site for a small fee. It is a natural stop for UAF students, faculty, and staff preparing for study-abroad terms or research fieldwork overseas, but any Fairbanks applicant can book a slot.
Appointments are required and walk-ins are turned away, so reserve a time through the campus scheduler before you go. If the university calendar is full, the two Barnette Street post offices on our Fairbanks passport page are close by downtown.
💡 Good to know
The counter is by appointment only through the UAF scheduler, and walk-ins are not accepted. It's a convenient choice for students and faculty heading abroad, though everyone is welcome. Compare it with the downtown offices on our Fairbanks guide.
