π About North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas, part of the Las Vegas metro in Clark County, gives residents three straightforward ways to apply for a U.S. passport without leaving the city. Between two USPS branches and the City Hall clerk's counter, most applicants can find a slot within a reasonable drive, whether they live near downtown or up in the Aliante area.
If you want the traditional route with photos on site, the North Las Vegas Main Post Office on East Lake Mead Boulevard is the busiest and best-equipped counter. Families in the northern subdivisions may prefer Meadow Mesa Station off Camino Al Norte, while anyone who wants a government office and does not mind calling ahead can use the City Clerk at 2200 Civic Center Drive, which welcomes non-residents too.
All three are acceptance facilities: they check your documents and forward your application, but they do not print the passport itself. Nevada has no passport agency within its borders, so the nearest in-person agency for genuine emergencies is the Los Angeles Passport Agency, roughly 270 miles and about a four-hour drive southwest on I-15.
For most travelers the smart move is to book early at whichever North Las Vegas counter is nearest, since routine processing can run several weeks. Compare hours and services across all three before you commit, and keep a backup in mind for the busy spring and summer season.
π‘ Good to know
Every counter here works by appointment or by calling ahead, so confirm your slot before driving over. USPS branches process the classic DS-11 with photos on site, while the City Clerk offers a government alternative when postal slots are booked. Details for each are on the office cards above.
