📖 About this office
The Rawlins Post Office anchors 5th Street in the city's historic downtown, a short walk from the Union Pacific line that put Rawlins on the map. Alongside its regular retail counter, it's a certified passport acceptance facility, so a specially trained clerk can witness your signature, seal your documents and mail your first-time or child application to the State Department. It's the more convenient of the two Rawlins acceptance offices if you'd like your passport photo taken in the same visit.
Because Wyoming has no in-state passport agency, this office covers the everyday needs of Carbon County travelers, while urgent cases route to the Colorado Passport Agency several hours south. Before arriving, verify the fees and document checklist on our Wyoming passport page.
💡 Good to know
Passport acceptance runs on a separate, often narrower schedule than the retail window, so call 307-324-3521 to book a time rather than dropping in. Street parking is generally easy downtown. Come with two payments, one for the State Department plus a separate execution fee, as our Wyoming passport guide explains.
