📖 About this office
The UNT Passport Office is run by the University of North Texas out of Marquis Hall on the west side of campus, and — importantly — it's open to the general public, not just students. The university's own site describes it as serving "the UNT campus community and greater Denton county area," so families, first-time applicants and residents from anywhere in Denton are welcome. It offers both passport applications and passport photos for new and minor passports.
What sets this office apart is that it takes walk-ins — no appointment needed — during its afternoon service hours, which is a real advantage over the appointment-only downtown offices. If your schedule is unpredictable or the post office and county clerk are booked out, this is the flexible option. Bring your ID and supporting documents per the Texas passport checklist.
💡 Good to know
Service hours are Monday through Thursday, roughly midday to late afternoon — the office is closed Friday through Sunday, so plan around a weekday. There's a reserved passport parking spot across from the Marquis Hall entrance on W. Mulberry Street. Because there are no appointments, arriving earlier in the window helps you avoid a wait. The documents you'll need are listed on the Texas passport guide .
