📖 About this office
Run by the County of Maui's Department of Human Concerns, the Immigrant Services Division doubles as a U.S. passport acceptance facility inside One Main Plaza on Main Street in Wailuku, just a few minutes from downtown Kahului. It accepts first-time and child applications and, unlike many acceptance points, takes the required passport photo on site for a small fee — handy if you want to finish everything in a single visit.
The office is a practical choice for Maui residents who prefer county government hours and don't want to line up a separate photo appointment. Like every acceptance office, this one mails your paperwork onward; truly time-critical cases go instead to the Honolulu Passport Agency, covered in the Hawaii passport guide .
💡 Good to know
Appointments are recommended but walk-ins are welcomed during county business hours, Monday through Friday. Photos run about $15 for a set of two that meet State Department specs, so you can skip a separate photo stop. One Main Plaza has visitor parking, and it is a short hop from central Kahului. For the fee schedule and document list, see the Hawaii state page.
