📖 About this office
The Pima County Clerk of Superior Court operates a passport acceptance facility in downtown Tucson, serving residents who need to apply for a first-time passport book or card. The office is located on the second floor of the courthouse complex at 240 N Stone Avenue, just blocks from the heart of the city center. Court staff are trained as federally authorized acceptance agents and review completed DS-11 applications before forwarding sealed packets to the U.S. Department of State.
Unlike a post office or university office, this courthouse location also serves applicants replacing lost, stolen, or damaged passports, making it a practical choice for more complex cases. A 5 clerk acceptance fee applies per application, in addition to federal passport fees. All applicants—including children—must appear in person at their scheduled appointment time. No walk-ins are permitted.
Tucson sits in Pima County, one of Arizona's largest and most populous counties, and the courthouse location reflects the county's longstanding role in civil records and identity services. 💡 Good to know
Appointments must be booked online through the Pima County Clerk's website. Walk-ins are not accepted, and each applicant—including minors—must appear at the appointment. The office does not provide passport photos, so bring two compliant photos when you arrive. For more local acceptance options, see the full Tucson passport offices page.
