📖 About this office
The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County keeps a passport acceptance desk inside the historic courthouse at 8 Church Circle, in the heart of downtown Annapolis just steps from the State House. As a State Department appointed acceptance agent, the clerk's staff review first-time and minor applications, witness your signature, and forward the sealed packet to a federal processing center on your behalf.
Because it sits on Church Circle rather than in a retail post office, this desk is a convenient stop if you are already handling other county business downtown. Note that the clerk does not take passport photos on site, so plan to bring a compliant photo with you. It is one of two acceptance points profiled on our Annapolis passport page.
💡 Good to know
Photos are not offered here, so have a passport photo made beforehand at a nearby pharmacy or shipping store. The $35 acceptance fee is separate from the State Department fees. If you also want to compare it with a full-service post office option, see the other listing on our Annapolis guide.
