📖 About this office
The Library Center on South Campbell Avenue is the flagship branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library District and a State Department-designated passport acceptance facility. For south-side residents it is often the most convenient choice, pairing a full public library with a passport desk under one roof.
Because it is a library, its counter keeps generous evening and weekend availability compared with a typical government office. Appointments are recommended and walk-ins are taken subject to staffing, so calling ahead saves time. Staff accept new adult and minor applications; note that the library does not process renewals, which travel by mail on Form DS-82.

💡 Good to know
Appointments are recommended; walk-ins are accepted subject to availability, so call 417-883-5341 first. Renewals are not handled here. If the south side is out of your way, the Springfield page lists a north-side library branch as well.
