📖 About this office
Austin University Station is the U.S. Postal Service branch tucked into the Drag along Guadalupe Street, a block from the University of Texas campus. Its passport counter is a convenient stop for students, faculty and West Campus residents who would rather not drive across town to file a first passport application.
As a designated acceptance facility, this station handles Form DS-11 applications for brand-new passports and for children under 16. Because a postal clerk verifies your identity and documents in person, everyone named on the application must show up together, and appointments here fill quickly during spring break and the run-up to summer study-abroad season.
Applications are taken by appointment through the USPS scheduler. For other options across the city, see our Austin passport offices guide, or browse the wider Texas passport acceptance directory.
💡 Good to know
This branch serves the busy campus corridor, so book early — appointment slots are limited each day. Bring your original documents plus one photocopy, and pay the State Department fee by check or money order (the USPS acceptance fee can be paid separately).
